About Ken Sharma

As vice chairman and co-founder of i2 from 1988 until his death in 1999, his leadership and vision not only helped to make i2 the top provider of supply chain solutions, but also to change the paradigms by which industries understand concepts such as supply chain planning and technology. Most important, even as Sharma changed the face of business, he never flagged in his dedication to what he did. As he said, "This work of mine has been a great source of satisfaction. If I've been able to help at least one person, that will be enduring."

The Ken Sharma Award for Excellence

The Ken Sharma Award for Excellence recognizes leading companies that have made outstanding advancements in supply chain management. i2 customers continue to generate tremendous value - including inventory and cycle-time reduction, increasing customer responsiveness and on-time delivery.

Named in honor of the co-founder of i2 and one of the original visionaries of supply chain management, the late Ken Sharma, the award honors companies and project teams involved with breakthrough best practices in all major industries around the globe. Ken Sharma's leadership and vision not only helped to make i2 a leading provider of supply chain solutions, but also to change the paradigms by which industries understand concepts such as supply chain planning and technology.

The Ken Sharma Awards are co-sponsored by i2 Technologies and the i2 User Group. A panel of independent industry analysts from a leading analyst firm will review the applications, judging them on several criteria, including overall quality of the application, implementation depth and breadth, time to value, innovation, and overall value. Finalists will be announced during the i2 User Group's annual conference, Directions 2008, November 5-7 at InterContinental, Dallas. Additionally, i2 will host a global awards ceremony at i2 Planet 2009 in New Orleans.
